PROJECT 3b: OBJECTS CONNECTION: A COMFORTABLE CHAIR

§  In group of 3, students are required to produce a structural model of a wooden L-shape seating object that combines a table and chair(s) (students are free to design and decide the form of each chair/sofa/table/desk)
§  Besides aesthetical factors, students should also consider the function of the furniture as an outdoor comfortable resting spot for HBP community and visitors (as it will be placed near the HBP pond-waterfall).
§  The theme of that seating object is ‘UNITY’, but each group is free to choose their specific concept that is relevant to the stipulated theme.

Project 3b is the first group work / group project for all of us. We were divided into groups by lecturers according to our own major. I was distributed to a group of 3 with two other coursemates , that is Angeline Lee and Ee Wei Xin.

We had met up a couple of time sin order to discuss about the wooden L-shape sating object, which will be located near the HBP pond-waterfall. There are many things that had came into consideration such as what types of chairs etc. Finally, we had decided to do L-shaped chairs with the 'beach chair' concept with one of the chair which is back-to-back attached with backrest to provide more spaces and comfort for everyone.

The final L-Shaped Wooden Chairs that we had made.

This wooden chairs were all made up of wooden sticks. We were emphasizing on the concept of 'simplicity' as the chairs are going to be located at a spot at HBP where students can relax their mind and rest over there. Hence, we greatly agree among ourselves that the chairs shouldn't have complicated designs and our design is the most suitable design for chairs that will be used as a resting and relaxing purposes.
